Well, I don’t need to tell everyone out there who has 4 school aged kids that have been home over the holidays that there hasn’t been a lot of time to do the things I like to do in my spare time. However, we have done some real fun things as a family and enjoyed visiting and entertaining several times over the past couple of weeks. Some of the highlights of the holidays are:
-Andrew remained relatively healthy and was able to enjoy the holidays.
- We spent Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Dec 22 and 28th and Dec 31st and Jan 1st with Family and Friends.
-We took a fund 48 hour trip (dec 26-28th) down to Seattle with the kids and had a wonderful time at an expensive hotel and saw some sights and did some shopping. It was great!
-I entered my 40th year yesterday!!!!!Yes, I turned 39!!
My DH bought me a great little CDplayer/radio for my sewing room which is great. I listened to my rest and relax music when I am in there and keep stealing the kids cd players and then having to put them back. This little one is perfect and sits on the corner of my sewing table which is great as my sewing room is a tiny little space. I went to an after Christmas sale at our local “lovely shop” Everyone has one, the kind where you walk in and everything smells wonderful and you could buy any item in the store for your home and would love it. Well, they had all Christmas stuff 1/2 price so I have outfitted my tree for next year. I bought everything rustic. Rusty bell, rusty cookie cutters, little rustic stockings for the tree. I can’t wait to decorate. Then was able to buy some ornaments from Crate and Barrel and Restoration Hardware while we were away to give a zing of red to my tree. All the special ornaments collected over the years will still be hung on a large garland leading up the starway to the kids bedrooms!
I am doing Block Centrals Block of the Month project for 2008. All the fabric is ordered from Hamels and is on the way and I yesterday I caught up my Stichalong blocks for Crazy Mom Quilts stitch along. I am also doing a Quilting RR for the first time. My center square is a dark red and dark blue heart that is going to the NWT today! I am doing a stitching exchange on my cross stitch board also, but that is a one time exchange and I have to wait for it to be sent to me before I can make that project. Also, I am going to try my hand at Hardanger for the first time and have ordered a kit of a wreath to try as part of a stitchalong on my cross stitch board also. I also pulled out Angel Proclamation by Mirabilia last night and put it back on the scroll frame to work on it a little bit. Well, I didn’t think I had much on the go but now I read it….I don’t know LOL. I’m attaching a few photos for you to enjoy! A Blessed 2008 to you all!

Happy New year and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday to you – 39, 40, whatever – you are still younger than I am, so what the heck! I don’t remember if you knew this, but I’m a Seattle girl, myself. Isn’t it a small world, really. For Christmas Santa brought me an iHome for my iPod. So now I can listen to it, listen to the radio, even can hook in my CD player if I want. I just love it. Aren’t we so lucky?
Happy New Year. I’m working on the Crazy Mom Quilts blocks as well. Using mostly 30’s fabrics. I have been making two of each, just in case I need them – for something I’m sure.
Cheers.

I got a chuckle when I read that you weren’t able to get much done while your children were home from school. lol! Only two of my four are still at home and I feel the same way…and lets not mention that DH had a two week vacation at that time! ROFLOL! I’m so glad that you had such a nice getaway with your family. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
A trip to Seattle for shopping, that sounds like fun. What a nice gift, music for your sewing room…heavenly.
I look forward to seeing your new BOM.
Your quilt-a-long blocks are GORGEOUS! What a wonderful quilt they will make!
